How to choose a headlamp for your task
A headlamp can keep both hands available while directing light toward your task. Choosing one starts with where you will use it, rather than the biggest number in an advertisement.
Match the beam to the job
Lighting a nearby workspace and seeing a distant point are different tasks. A wide beam and a focused beam serve different purposes. Beam angle alone does not tell you brightness, useful distance or battery runtime. Check the available model’s specifications and ask about any unclear number before relying on it.
Check comfort and stability
Look at strap adjustment, weight and how easily the power button can be reached. If you plan to wear it over a cap, ask whether the strap accommodates that. On arrival, try the fit briefly in a safe setting and check that the lamp neither slips nor presses uncomfortably against your forehead.
Confirm power and care requirements
Check the power source and whether a cable or batteries are included. Do not assume water resistance or an included charger unless explicitly stated. Follow the supplied charging and storage instructions, and avoid pointing the beam directly into other people’s eyes.
Ask before ordering
Open the product page for current availability in your country. Ask about light modes, runtime for each mode and box contents if these are not listed. A headlamp is an optional tool: if your existing task lighting is adequate, an additional lamp may not be necessary.
